CHURCHES CONNECTED TO THE STEPHENSON AND JOHNSON FAMILIES

HOLY TRINITY

Holy Trinity Church stood in Church Walk Hendon and was built in 1719.  It was then named Sunderland Church and became the parish church for Hendon and the East End.  Together with St Michael's Bishopwearmouth and St Peters in Monkwearmouth, these were the three main churches in Sunderland during the 18th century.  The building still remains but no longer holds services.
